Jose Mourinho is one of the true characters of modern football management. Twice lifting the Barclays Premier League trophy with Chelsea, he has tasted success in England, and is now tasting similar success in Italy with Inter Milan. The Inter manager has said on many occasions that he ‘loves’ the English game and does plan on returning to management here in the future.

After the results this weekend in the Barclays Premier League I listened to BBC radio station 5 live on the my journey home from Old Trafford after watching the mighty reds Manchester United go top of the league. There were many callers calling for Rafa Benitez to be sacked as Liverpool manager and that he should be replaced by Mourinho or Frank Rijkaard, previously of Barcelona. Somehow I feel that Mourinho would not go to Liverpool. I think he is holding out for a return to England to manage United once Fergie finally retires. Personally I believe managing the reds is his dream job and I’d put a bet on now for Mourinho being odds on to be the next man in charge of Manchester United.

I’m a massive football fan, and each season myself and a group of 20 others enter the free competition on www.premierleague.com. The website is the official site of the Barclays Premier League and although there is no entry fee, the competition does have an OK prize. It’s not quite like winning similar competitions on The Telegraph or The Sun where there is big prize money but you can win a trip to any Premier League game of your choice, weekend break in the city and prize money to spend on the weekend, including hotel within the prize. The reason I know what you can win is because my Uncle won the whole thing 2 seasons ago coming first above millions of other entrants.

Basically you select a team of 11 players and 3 substitutes from a total budget of £100 million. Certain players are a dead cert to be a success – the likes Van der Sar saving shots or Vidic and Terry who keep clean sheets. Gerrard and Lampard score and create, while strikers like Rooney, Drogba and Torres will also top the leader board in their respective groups; the groups are Goalkeeper, Defence, Midfield and Strikers.

You also need to select a captain who gets double points, so you need to choose wisely dependant on who your best players are playing. Also it makes sense for your substitutes to be regular players – perhaps players in the lower teams but players who play 90mins a week as you if your main team have injuries you will need to use your subs.

I’ll be on the Internet on Friday night preparing my squad and formation for Saturday morning. Let me know if there are any other fantasy football management sites you recommend!!! And good luck!!!
